Introduction to Linux: Live demo
Linux Ubuntu or Mint will be demonstrated to the recruits. Demonstrate:
- Command line navigation versus gui based navigation
- basic command-line commands, man and –help
- how to install software, and why it’s cool
- use of sudo (and why o be careful about that)
- creating a file in the command line and visually seeing it come up in the gui
- how to set up keyboard shortcuts
- launching Python and Node from the command line
Prerequisites for speaker
Whoever is doing ths workshop should be familiar with th excercises given to recruits. Questions will come up, you should be able to answer them.
